Many times in history people were zealous for the wrong things, but at the same time others were zealous for things that were good. We want to be zealous for what is good and in God’s will.
Epaphrus, referred to Colossians 4, had a great zeal for the believers in Colosse, Laodicea, and in Hierapolis. His zeal was manifest mostly by a fervent labour in prayer that the believers would stand perfect and complete in the will of God.
If there is anything we should be zealous for, it should be a zeal in prayer for the well-being of our brothers and sisters in the faith; to stand mature and complete in the will of God. The fire of God’s zeal desires to burn in us, to make us zealous for the things that are good.
