The above statement is not likely an unrealistic expectation. In a fallen world where we are faced with tragedy and demonic interference, it is not too likely that we will cruise through life without stress. I think we can say there is good stress and bad stress. Good stress is where we build muscle and character amid the opposition we face. Bad stress is where we are totally dominated by stress and consumed by the challenges and negative things we face in life, work or family. The Bible does not promise a stress free life, however we are told that if “we cast our cares on Him,” “take His yoke (of humility) on us,” pray when distressed that the peace of God which surpasses understanding will keep our hearts and minds. Bottom line, stress can be managed well if we learn to walk with Jesus in it.
