Exodus 15:26 tells us that if we will diligently hearken to the voice of God, none of these diseases will come upon us, “for I am the Lord the health thee.” It has been said that there is one thing better than healing and that is health. I agree with that statement only to say that both are wonderful and God wants to provide both for His people. The promise of Exodus 15:26 is that we can avoid diseases and sickness and if it does come upon us, God will graciously supply healing. One of the many names of our God tells who He is and what He provides is Jehovah Rapha, “The Lord who Heals.” Health is ours as we live according to God’s laws and ways. Healing is ours when we call on the Healer. Sickness comes largely because of disobedience to God’s health laws. Because of sin and Satan’s influence, healing comes when we bring ourselves under the complete authority of Jesus the Healer.
