The Baptists have said for years “we are saved to serve”. Scripturally we are called to other things like sonship. We are undeniably called to be sons who do not work for our place, but because we love we serve.
Jesus was the Son of God but also the servant of God. We as sons serve the purposes of God. We serve joyfully and responsibly. We are servants of the Most High God, employed and deployed to impact the world and the universe.
It is a privilege to serve God and others. When we have an attitude of service, we are fulfilled both now and in the future.
The greatest fulfillment in the end will be “well done good and faithful servant". May we hear the same words that Father said to Jesus, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”
