Barbaro Captured Our Hearts

The headlines this weak have carried the story of the racehorse that captured the hearts of millions of people as he lost his fight to overcome difficult odds to recover from a broken leg suffered eight months ago. It is reported than peoples hearts were captured by his unusual spirit to live and donations of 1.2 million poured in for his recovery attempt.

This horse seemed to be treated better than some people even treat themselves. He was receiving the finest care, and concern for his wellbeing poured in from around the world.

when it comes to our own health many of us have been indifferent and unconcerned. How we treat our bodies will impact us either positively or negatively. If we have not cared for ourselves physically it can hamper our ability to live, if we haven’t looked after our emotional lives we become limited in our relationships, if we have not strengthened our spiritual lives we become disoriented in our destiny.

For today: The more we care for ourselves now the more opportunity we will have to care for others in the future. “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV)
