Appreciate Those Who Work
To appreciate is to add value towards something or someone. It's nice when you buy a home, work on it, clean it up and then discover that it now has more value because of what you did to it.
When I was a young guy, 16 years old, I bought a 1956 Plymouth. It was dirty inside and out, however it was in fairly good condition. The paint was okay, with just a few rust spots which could be polished out. The upholstery was good, but very dirty. So, I went to work. I polished it, cleaned the upholstery, touched up a few areas, and even washed the engine. After the effort it looked almost new. I bought it for $165 and sold it for $350. The young guy who bought it from me thought he was getting a deal, and handed me the money. I worked on something to appreciate its value.
The work that God did to bring us to Jesus was a work of appreciation. We were stained by sin of the world, but He started the work of cleaning and appreciating us or adding value to our lives.
We add value to one another by giving kind words, and saying what God would say about that person to others. We tell people that they are appreciated when we express love. We make a better world by appreciating or adding value to one another. In view of this, we should not say negative things to others. We should never dirty another person. Rather, we should do our best. If there is a spot, to clean it up and aid others by appreciating them and helping people joyfully appreciate others.
There are those who work hard among us. The Bible says, " we should appreciate those who work hard among us." When we do that, they will be able to continue in the hard work that they are carrying on, by our encouraging and appreciating words.
